Subject: Revised public meeting schedule for the consideration of the proposed Edgewood-Park City historic district expansion (H-1 Zoning Overlay)
To: "kaye.graybeal" <kaye.graybeal>
Good evening all,
I wanted to update you on a revised public meeting schedule for the consideration of the proposed historic district expansion boundaries and design guidelines update. The Historic Zoning Commission voted 6-1 at their meeting on August 17th that the proposed Edgewood-Park City H-1 expansion area is historically worthy of an H-1 Historic District Zoning Overlay. The proposal and recommendation are anticipated to be forwarded to the Planning Commission to be considered at their October 12th meeting at 1:30 in the Main Assembly Room of the City-County Building. Mailed notices will be sent out by MPC to property owners about this meeting. After the proposal is heard by the Planning Commission, their recommendation will be forwarded (along with the earlier HZC recommendation) to City Council to most likely be heard at their November 7th meeting. The City Council, not the Planning Commission, is the government body that will determine the degree of support for the proposal.
The HZC postponed a vote on adopting the Design Guidelines Updates for the entire area until the comments from the August 17th HZC meeting can be addressed and more input can be obtained. These revisions will be posted on-line, and will be reviewed by the HZC at their September 21st HZC meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the Small Assembly Room of the City-County Building. Information on these meetings will be posted on the MPC website at http://www.knoxmpc.org/edgewood-parkcity/ or anyone may call MPC at 215-2500 to request an update on the meeting schedule. You may also e-mail me with any questions or comments.
Thank you for your interest.
